Values-Driven Leadership in Silicon Valley | MGMT 72 at the Leavey School of Business
What does it look like to lead with your values in Silicon Valley? In MGMT 72, a required course for sophomores at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business, students go straight to the source. Building on MGMT 71, where first-year students reflect on their personal values and strengths, MGMT 72 shifts the focus to leadership as a formal role. Students study how leaders translate values into action within real organizations. A key project is reaching out to and interviewing a Silicon Valley leader, giving students a firsthand look at the opportunities and challenges of values-driven leadership. In this video, professors, students, and Leadership Peer Educators share what they took away from the course and why values sit at the heart of leadership. MGMT 72 is part of Leavey's Principled Leadership curriculum, built around The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership, developed right here at Santa Clara.
