Tallinn University of Technology in cooperation with the state-owned foundation KredEx decided to apply a scientific approach to renovation of old apartment buildings in Estonia until 2020. Scientists and the state have systematically developed workable solutions, which has enabled to renovate buildings once and properly. The win-win-win situation was achieved for everyone: for the state (tax revenue covers the grant), for the residents – good indoor climate and improved building condition in a higher value of real estate - and for the environment – energy savings. This is a unique grant system in all neighbouring countries.
