As more and more countries adopt radical policies of containment and restrictions to mobility, the economic consequences of the fight against the coronavirus are becoming clear. Any sensible scenario for 2020 predicts a global recession and the question is how deep it will be and whether the recovery will come before the end of the year or we will find ourselves in a protracted period of subpar growth. In this session Professor Antonio Fatas will explore different macroeconomic scenarios for the months ahead and will discuss the policies adopted by different governments and central banks and their likely impact.
