What’s it really like to be a student in the Master of Quantitative Finance (MQF) program at the UC San Diego Rady School of Management? In this video, Kate McNaughton (Class of 2024) shares her favorite memories, personal milestones, and advice for anyone considering the program. From setting a UC San Diego track and field school record in the 4x400 meter relay to representing Rady at the Financial Times Biz Quiz competition, Kate’s experience blends high-level academic rigor with unforgettable extracurricular achievements. Beyond the competitions and accolades, she emphasizes the value of late-night study sessions, peer collaboration, and the friendships that shaped her graduate experience. Kate also offers valuable advice for prospective MQF students: ✔️ Get involved early. Join clubs, attend networking events, and build connections. ✔️ Master time management. Use digital planners to balance coursework, projects, internships, and personal time. ✔️ Embrace challenges. Step outside your comfort zone with leadership roles, competitions, or internships in new industries. ✔️ Prioritize wellness. Take time to recharge—whether it’s spending time with friends, exploring San Diego, or simply stepping back to avoid burnout. This video provides an authentic look at how the Rady MQF program not only prepares students for careers in finance but also fosters personal growth, leadership skills, and lifelong friendships. 🔗 Learn more about the Rady MQF program: https://rady.ucsd.edu/programs/master-quantitative-finance/index.html #RadySchool #UCSD #QuantitativeFinance #RadyMQF #StudentExperience #GradSchoolLife #FinanceCareers #BusinessSchool #Leadership #worklifebalance _________________________________________________________________________________________ FOLLOW & SUBSCRIBE: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/radyschool Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/radyschool LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/school/ucsandiego-rady-school-of-management X: https://twitter.com/radyschool Website: https://rady.ucsd.edu
