Life on Campus | Office of Campus Life
Starting with your first days on campus during orientation and continuing through Commencement, Student Life at Rider is a transformative experience.

Leadership at Rider begins at the start of a student’s first year with a tremendous amount of opportunities. With over 150 student clubs and organizations, there are so many outlets for students to find paths that are the perfect fit for them. These organizations span involvement in academics, campus media, sports, service, multicultural, performing arts, religious and other general and special interest clubs. For students who want more focused leadership training, a number of leadership development programs are available, including programs designed specifically for incoming first-year students and many of which apply towards your Engaged Learning requirements.

From the first moment you arrive here as a student you will be welcomed into the Rider Community with open arms. In fact, we pride ourselves on our diverse and inclusive community - where each student is embraced and valued for all aspects of their identities and experiences that they bring with them to Rider. Among other involvement opportunities, our multicultural clubs and organizations are a great way for students to connect.

Service and civic engagement are at the center of our community with our students completing thousands of hours of service annually, and you can find ways to give back through large scale programs and in your everyday student experience.

Community also extends to your residence hall. Rider’s two-year residency requirement assures students experience all that college has to offer. Our staff is here to support and assist you in Rider becoming your new home away from home. From making friendships that last a lifetime with your hallmates to participating in programs, you’ll meet so many people to share meals with in our dining hall and late night bonding in our nighttime dining locations.

Fraternity & Sorority life is also an incredible asset to our community through our Interfraternal, Panhellenic and Intercultural Greek organizations. They provide several opportunities to create long lasting relationships and memories of your Rider experience. Many of our premier student leadership positions are represented by members of fraternities and sororities because our Greek Life organizations value Rider’s commitment to leadership and community.

Involvement also extends to our recreation programs, athletics, and the weekend experience!

Rider’s Recreation Programs supports the well-being of students as they develop a life-long healthy lifestyle. Through our club sports and intramural leagues, students are provided opportunities along with faculty and staff to engage in recreational activities designed to support our vibrant living-learning community.

As a community, Rider always comes together to support our athletic programs. Whether you are an athlete or a spectator, our 20 division 1 sports are the perfect showcase of school spirit and the talent we have on campus.

Along with athletics, we also have a vibrant calendar of traditions and late night and weekend programs. These include some of our annual events like Cranberry Fest, the Fall Concert, R Factor, MAACness, Rock Fest, and Scream Screen as well as comedians, lectures, and live music to keep you engaged throughout the semester.

To culminate your four years at Rider, the Senior Class presents Senior Week. Where our graduates are able to come together with their class and engage in fun activities including Senior Ball to cap off the Rider experience before walking across the stage at Commencement.

At that point, you’ll see just how transformative being a Rider Bronc can be.
