From Concept to Finish Line | UO Sports Product Management Master's Student Builds His Running Shoes
What happens when you mix innovation, heritage, and hands-on learning? Tyler Davies, a master's student in the University of Oregon's Sports Product Management program, took the skills he gained in the classroom and Innovation Lab to the next level—by building his own shoes and running the Eugene Half Marathon in them. Inspired by Nike’s roots and Bill Bowerman’s belief that racing shoes should be lightweight, comfortable, and built to last, Tyler combined a Lunarlon midsole found in the lab with a custom Tyvek upper—drawing from the design of the ultra-lightweight Nike Mayfly. This is what it looks like when education meets real-world application in the UO Sports Product Management program. #UOSPM #SportsProductManagement #InnovationInMotion #TrackTownUSA #NikeHeritage #EugeneHalfMarathon #GradSchoolGoals #FootwearDesign #GoDucks #MadeToMove
