Professor Madeleine Lowery is Expert in Biomedical Engineering, which looks at the human body as an engineering system: a complex computational, mechanical, and electrical system, and applies the techniques of engineering to improve health outcomes. Professor Lowery’s research is focused on using engineering to understand the human nervous system as it relates to movement, in health and disease, and to design therapies and technologies to improve impaired motor function. She leads an interdisciplinary research team in the area of Neuromuscular Systems and Neural Engineering.
