Syrian Revolutionary and U of T Student Noura Al-Jizawi
Noura Al-Jizawi, a University of Toronto master’s student in global affairs, was in the thick of the Syrian uprising against Bashar al-Assad when it began six years ago.

“I was one of the crazy people who started the revolution,” Al-Jizawi says with a grin. “All the time, revolutions are started by crazy people. It’s a kind of madness.”

U of T videographer Lisa Lightbourn-Lay sat down with Al-Jizawi recently to document her incredible story.
